색동박물관 소개
창덕궁과 종로3가역 사이에 위치한 한국색동박물관은 색동연구가 김옥현의 30여년간의 색동에 관한 연구와 그 동안의 유물수집을 바탕으로
2014년 3월 5일 개관하였다. 한국색동박물관은 전통한옥 양식과 현대적인 공간이 어우러지도록 설계하였으며 한국의 음양오행 상생소멸의
철학이 있는 색동의 의미를 담아 ‘한국색동박물관’이라 건물명을 지었다. 박물관은 혼례복과 돌복을 비롯한 색동관련 유물을 1,000여점 소장하고
있으며 박물관이 주체하는 다양한 색동유물전시를 기획, 연구, 교육 하고 있다.
박물관의 뮤지엄샵에는 양지나 관장의 2&i브랜드 패션디자인 컬렉션과 색동문화상품이 있다. 관장 양지나는 10여년 전부터 어머니 김옥현과 함께 색동의 현대화를 위한 연구를 지속적으로 진행하고 있으며 색동을 이용한 제품개발 및 전시를 통해 색동의 세계화를 위한 방향을 제시하고 있다.
한국색동박물관은 우리의 전통양식을 현대 생활에 적용한다는 슬로건에 따라 한국 색동에 관한 올바른 인식을 갖도록 하며 현대생활에서의
활용방안을 모색해 나갈 것이다.
Korea Saekdong Museum is the nation’s first specialist museum dedicated to promoting the beauty and excellence of Saekdong to a global audience. The museum was official registered since April 2015. Located between Changdeokgung Palace and Jongno-3-ga subway station,the museum’s two-story Korean traditional house, which harmonizes the traditional architectural style with modern space, faces a stone-walled street (Seosunra-gil) along Jongmyo shrine. Currently housed in the museum are over 1,000 items covering both traditional and contemporary pieces. The traditional collection holds wedding garments, firstbirthday garments, and holiday attire all with Saekdong, along with various household items which have obang colours. In the contemporary collection, you’ll find Saekdong clothes for adults, infant jackets, Saekdong pouches and Saekdong leather purses among a variety of contemporary Saekdong pieces. Korea Saekdong Museum also continues to present its annual offering of new Saekdong design with a modern interpretation of the traditional Saekdong. You’ll find various contemporary design products on display. The museum director Jina Yang, with a degree in fashion design, and the Professor Emeritus Okhyun Kim of Dongduk Women’s University, a Saekdong expert, began their collaboration to present exhibitions on Saekdong fashion and cultural products.
색동박물관의 목표
1. 색동이 음양오행의 철학을 가진 한국 전통 고유의 아름다운 문양과 색채의 옷감이라는 것을 널리 알린다.
2. 색동 유물관련 전시를 기획하여 대중들이 색동에 담긴 의미와 다양한 쓰임에 대해 인식하고 자부심을 키울 수 있도록 한다.
3. 박물관 아트샵의 현대 색동 패션, 문화상품의 지속적인 개발을 통해 국제화 시대에 맞는 세계적 색동 명품디자인을 만들어 나간다.
4. 다양한 색동교육을 통해 대중들이 우리나라 색동의 역사와 철학을 배우고 색동 문화상품 제작에 직접 참여하는 계기를 마련한다.
The Mission of Korea Saekdong Museum
1. Publicise that Saekdong is a beautiful stripe pattern of Korea’s long and unique tradition with yin-yang and five elements.
2. Curate exhibitions of Saekdong heritage to promote a public understanding of the significance and diverse uses of saekdong
and to inspire a pride in Saekdong.
3. Continue to develop contemporary Saekdong fashion and cultural products through the Museum’s art shop in order to produce
worldclass Saekdong design for the age of globalisation.
4. Provide education on Saekdong so that the public may learn about the history and philosophy of Saekdong and take part in the
production of Saekdong goods.
